I have had a passion for photography from quite some time. Very soon, I realized it was important to preserve the captured moments, to tell a story through the photos, to make it into a beautiful memory. Hence I started exploring the option of scrapbooking….

The end product could be gifted as an album or framed to adorn your bedrooms and living rooms. Immortalize the memory of the people, place and event for the future generations. Doing so, will preserve every precious memory. Journal the moment with special phrases and create an instant recall capsule that will enable you to travel back in time to that very unforgettable moment ...that is where this Design studio comes in; to help you create that very special gift:)

Suggi Creations Design Studio is a small studio for all your scrapbooking needs in Bangalore. Supplies like embellishments, stickers, albums, stamps; much more,available with us. A Studio with a focus on personal consultations in order to spread the techniques of scrapbooking and making memories “keepsake”.

Remembering the place i love through.....Mysore Traditional Paintings!

Mysore painting: The Vijayanagar School of Painting (A.D. 1336 to 1665) was very distinct from the earlier styles and has made a great contribution to the Art of India. The pupils of this school specialized in drawing war scenes, folk dances, animal hunting, commercial transactions and everyday life of the common people. The Mysore and Tanjore Traditional Paintings are the off shoots of the Vijayanagar school.

The Mysore kings were ruling the princely state from Srirangapattana and Raja Wodeyar (1578-1617 A.D.) employed several painters from Vijayanagar and thus laid a sound foundation of Mysore Traditional Painting. These painters were also assigned allied work in decoration, preparing banners, doll making, gold work, painting the temple cars, preparing portraits of rulers, deities and saints. The Mysore kings that followed also encouraged this style of painting.

The stories from the ramayana, the Mahabharatha, the Bhagavata Purana and Jain epics are the primary basis of Mysore traditional paintings. Individual deities, epic heroes, court scenes, battle ground are also depicted. Most popular themes are: Rajarajegvari, Shri Rama Pattabhisheka, Kodanada Rama, Dashavatara, Tandaveshvara, Ambegalu Krishna, Laxmi, Sarasvati, Chamundesvari, Visvarupadarsha, and Samudramanthana. Some of well preserved Jesso paintings could be seen in Mysore, Nanjangoodu and Bangalore. Sringeri, Melukote and other pilgrimage centers also have many gesso paintings.

I have been practicing Mysore art from many years from Jaganmohana palace in Mysore. We were guided by palace artist called Ramanarasiah .But we were a bunch of people who were fortunate to learn from Ramanarasiah's very talented student called Shatrughna Thimmappa. Here are some of the paintings which i still have (fortunately!) done under his guidance which are close to my heart.

Glass painting - A journey that started a long time back in the ancient times and reached the pinnacle of popularity during the Renaissance in 14th and 15th century Italy, continued a long way to be in vogue in contemporary India. There are very few artists in India who have worked towards the revival of “Glass Painting” -a dying art, which once had devoted practitioners in the country during the beginning of 18th century. Glass painting is a stunning form of art practised by many of the Indian artists. The Indian glass painters cover a variety of subjects and themes. My glass paintings are the earnest efforts of bringing the ‘once lost’ art for one more time to the art lovers, and even manifest their aesthetic appeal.
